Why I think Charlie Davies is a selfish tool.
Probably why I think Charlie Davies is a selfish tool.... .. when my brother broke his neck in a pool accident at a neighbor's party (where alcohol was served) he had the opportunity to sue (and was even encouraged to do so by friends and family). Did he sue? no. Why? he took responsibility, even though he was not fully to blame.. its been 3 years since that accident and he just started a part time job. he has struggled to pay bills and his mortgage... his family (wife and two kids) had to get by any way they could.. draining life savings... draining my family physically, emotionally and economically.
Did he make $300,000 a year playing a game? no.
was he able to get up from his accident less than 2 years later and run? no
My brother walks now, with the assistance of crutches, but he will always be partially paralyzed.
Is my brother a stronger and better man than Charlie Davies? Most definitely.
Is he richer then Charlie Davies will ever be? yes cause he has the dignity to take responsibility for his actions.

Coffee just not doing it today.. But man oh man what a weekend
Had a great weekend. Rode 15 miles on the bike trails of PG County.
Why is that when I brought this up in conversation with a co-worker (who is from racist Prince Williams County, VA) she immediately asked, "Was it safe"?
White people, who have never lived in an urbanized area, are whack.....
Which leads me to an observation I had while on my 15 mile bike escapade. Where are all the white children at???? Sunday was a beautiful fall day. Each and every playground that I came in contact with (PG County bike trails connect several smaller parks with actual playgrounds with jungle gyms and all) was thriving with children. All whooping and hollaring as they were having fun. The only thing absent... NO WHITE CHILDREN. Where were they? I know my neighborhood and the towns surrounding it abound with children who are of the caucasian variety. Since it was beautiful, kids should be flocking to playgrounds with swing sets and slides and monkey bars.
Do white children (or more to the point their parents) just not do public parks?
Sad.

Occupy Wall Street: Farming is Direct Action
First let me state, I am one of the 99% and I support the OWS movement. The above picture, by Lee Ranaldo, clearly states my position on what should be done. All the over educated under employed protesters on Wall Street who went to college and are having difficulty paying their student loans, let me suggest the following (and please do not take offense). Note, I want this movement to grow and consume the rest of America.
How about we, the under employed/over educated Occupy Wall Street protesters seek employment on America's farms as farm hands, in America's non-union factories on the line, in America's ditches as ditch diggers or in America's fast food emporiums. Bring this cause to the under educated working class in order that they may learn and join this movement. This movement need not be so selfish, as I see a lot of the OWS who want THEIR student loans forgiven, THEIR pay from corporate America to increase. Could this not be the same selfishness that is giving Wall Street and Corporate America the power they yield at a cost to us? I ask in all honesty, what about the REAL 99%, the working poor, the fast food emporium burger flipper, the chain store mall worker, or the migrant farm hand. A majority of the over educated OWS protesters were educated and prepped to work in the very companies that have their hands in the Wall Street coffers.
To you I say, Take direct action!
Get your hands dirty!

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.
As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit.
They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.*

Been a little while
In the time that we last talked, I have done the following
- Missed the Virgin Fest due to 102 degree temperature, sorry chk chk chk
- Admitted to Providence Hospital due to temperature
- Was infused with enough antibiotics to kill a small nation
- Battled with R2Drug2, Providence Hospital's drug bot
- Bought an electric mower
- Mowed my lawn
- "OOOOOed and AHHHHHed" over a praying mantis *see below picture of said mantis on my garage
- DID NOT CELEBRATE, REMEMBER, nor FORGOT 9/11
- Did not eat at the combination Taco Bell and Pizza Hut
- finished painting the two smallest rooms in my house

No regulars so i'll type about my kidney
<p>I'm sitting at the transplant center waiting for my cytogam infusion. Which means sitting on my ass for four hours while meds slowly drip into my veins. My donor, at one time, came in contact with a herpes type virus that lies dormant in their organs. I knew the risks and signed off on taking a possibly infected kidney. The doctors informed me that 8 cytogam infusions would help my body not contract the possible virus (a type of herpes). Today's infusion is number seven, the eighth and final is scheduled for a month from now.
Infusion appointments are long and slow. To complicate matters, i was late to the appointment by 10 minutes, and since the cytogam is made to order here at the hospital I have to always wait up to and hour if I'm late by five or ten minutes.
So here i sit waiting for my meds to arrive.

Nine fourteen the next day
I survived Irene. Was asleep by 1:00/1:30! The 3 espressos i had at 4:00 yesterday did nothing!
The power that was Irene was quite impressive. Would love to experience something like that again, however, my home would not like to experience that again. Too stressful for all involved.

well, Irene is here, rain has been constant since noon and the wind is definitely picking up. Gust come through the neighbor sending the rain horizontal.
The gutter out front of the house is now a large creek. Thankfully the drain down the street has not backed up. Fingers crossed it continues to flow flow flow.
