Carlos Ruiz DC United El Pescadito

Did Seal Team Six miss?
Did DC United pick the wrong Guatemalan?
IS Osama bin Laden really that fit?
Is Carlos Ruiz no longer fat, slow and all elbowy?
Was Osama hiding in Guatemala all this time?
Do they have caves in Guatemala?
Do they have fish in Pakistan?
Is United Al-Qaeda of MLS?
Will Barra Brava have to endure IEDs on their walk to RFK?
Are the Screaming Eagles the Red Cross/Red Crescent of Lot 8?

2013 season for DC United is sure to be interesting.

Chk Chk Chk !!!

Just found out that Nic Offer is the ONLY lead singer in Chk Chk Chk and that John Pugh left the band in 2007... Where have I been?

John Pugh IMHO was the better of the two singers.  While Nic might have the showmanship Pugh had the better stylings.

With John Pugh and bassist Justin van der Volgen gone from the band... why continue to follow and listen !!!?

This totally makes me sad to think that the annoying (and weak link of the band) Nic Offer now carries !!!.
why !!!, why?

I guess I will need to research Pugh's band Free Blood

Sad week

Can't make this up: the Mount Rainier, Maryland edition

I knew when we bought our house, in Mount Rainier, Maryland, we were moving into a mixed neighborhood of artists, aging hippies and blue collar plebes.

Being the social guy that I am, I subscribed to the neighborhood/city's yahoo group listserve to learn up on the locals, the politics and the general goings on.

Most emails inquire into good contractors, rumors about our city government and the giving away of free garbage.

The listserve received the below email last night from Joanne Kirsch, enjoy its simplicity:

I wonder if her animal needs to stop smoking or lose weight?  Or maybe is suffering from depression...

If you want to subsribe to utter whackiness that is the Mount Rainier, MD yahoo group listserve, feel free it is open to all and not moderated:

From our heroes Occupy Wall Street; who are occupying Wall Street

Official Statement from Occupy Wall Street - this statement was voted on and approved by the general assembly of protesters at Liberty Square: Declaration of the Occupation of New York City

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.

They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.

They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless nonhuman animals, and actively hide these practices.

They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.

They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.

They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.

They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.

They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.

They have sold our privacy as a commodity.

They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.

They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.

They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.

They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them.

They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.

They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit.

They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.

They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.

They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.

They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.*

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Join us and make your voices heard!

Corn Dogs

OLD NEWS

Who doesnt love a corn dog on a stick...

I remember, in my youth, going to Marriott's Great America to ride the demon and tidalwave and eat food from a stick! Chocolate covered frozen bananas-on-a-stick and CornDogs-on-a-stick.

Is eating corndogs now the equivalent of politicians kissing babies?

Must a politician eat a corndog in Iowa to get elected?

Or Just something phallic?

Yep phallic...

Bobby Boswell Traded

Just learned that Bobby Boswell of DC United has been traded to Houston. Boswell, 2006 Defender of the Year, had a rough season this past year and spent a lot of time on the bench due to on the pitch inconsistencies (it happens). Say what you will of his playing abilty, and his media whoredom, but Bobby is a genuine down to earth guy. Probably one of the easiest sports personalities to have a conversation with.

I wish him the best of luck in Houston.

Below is a video of Bobby and I singing to my friend Caroline, a REAL Bobby Boswell fan... Who's cheer, "Bobby's Hotter" echoed throughout RFK during the DC v LA game (Beckham's premiere).

Ridge Street House Collapses 11:10 PM 11/26/07

Just as we settled down to watch the 11:00 PM News a commotion of sirens and lights blazed past the house. Upon further inspection and a short walk I found that a house or the shell of some long ago abandoned house collapsed. 462 or 464 Ridge's east wall collapsed onto the sidewalk and adjoining property. Below are photos taken moments ago.

The last BLURRY photo is that of a search and rescue K9 and was my first glimpse of the disaster scene, the sight of the dog got my spidey senses working overtime. No word on whether or not anybody was pulled from the rubble. Keep looking back for updates.

Sweet Jesus, I'm famous!

Ninjamonkey3000 has been picked up for syndication!! Well sort of.....

New blog service, Shawington, has added Ninjamonkey3000 to its blogroll.

Since Shaw is the "Bloggiest" DC neighborhood, someone had the bright idea to "aggregate" 33 blogs into one super blog. über blog, if you will.

What does this mean for Ninjamonkey3000?
*Ninjamonkey3000 will need to figure out how to add Shawington to it's own blogroll.
*Ninjamonkey3000 will have more posts about Shaw. (technically the Ninjamonkey3000 Batcave HQ is half a block out of Shaw, but who is counting geography, SHAW is really a state of mind).
*Ninjamonkey3000 will need to start to type good!
*Ninjamonkey3000 will need to post more often than our current one post every 5 years. The public have spoken, THEY WANT THEIR NINJAMONKEY3000.
*Ninjamonkey3000 will need to start posting more pics of thyself so random anonymous Shawsters can slap me on my back and say "HEY even though your NM3000 BC HQ (Ninjamonkey3000 Batcave Headquarters) is technically half a block outside of Shaw, you are awesome and you represent Shaw's state of mind, but can you fix yer typing? It's not good."
*More anonymous comments that say, "you suck!", or "shut up, fatass!"

Note to Shawington.........
Please fix your blogroll, the blog is Ninjamonkey3000 NOT Ninjamonkey or Ninja Monkey.

Thanks for tuning in!!!!

A little late as always

As usual I am late to game!!

I recently picked up the Peter Bjorn and John album Writer's Block. THough I'm not "into" all the songs off the album, they are a smashing groop. Ideal tracks for listening: Objects Of My Affection, Up Against the Wall and off course the crowd favorite Young Folks.

In other news I am job searching, but massive soul searching is needed before this can happen. Ever been in a rut and you are unsure of how to exit said rut? Possibly I am taking the rut stuckness out on the wife, which is unwarranted and unfair on my behalf. I need a big change!!! My pain should not be her pain!
Though I can't blame all my work issues on my employer, I just can't stand the fact that I am ignored on almost a daily basis.
